Panel Discussion: Thoughts on Steeplechase Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow

Steeplechase and other equestrian pursuits have long been a part of Middleburg culture. Over the years the sport itself has been adapting to the evolving demographics and changing landscape. Most recently a new hurdle, in the form of a global pandemic, has had a significant impact on steeplechasing. Join Bill Gallo, National Steeplechase Association Director of Racing; Punkin Lee, Race Chairman for the Virginia Fall Races; Don Yovanovich, long-time industry professional and trainer; and Will O’Keefe, Race Meet Announcer, as they discuss their views on steeplechase’s past, present, and future at home in Virginia and nationally.
