NSLM is excited to welcome our members and the community to enjoy ticketed access to the Museum and Library Thursday–Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm (beginning July 8th).
As a historic structure, the NSLM manages visitor capacity to maintain a safe environment for visitors and artwork. We recommend securing tickets ahead of your visit for an optimal visitor experience. Walk-in visitors are accepted unless capacity has been reached.
NSLM is requiring all visitors to wear masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
NSLM’s policies may change as we continue to follow local and national recommendations.
We will continue to evaluate and provide updates as to when and how we can safely expand our capacity.
The NSLM is closed on Federal Holidays.

NSLM is a proud participant in Museum for All, a cooperative initiative between the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Association of Children's Museums, to offer a signature access program that encourages families of all backgrounds to visit cultural institutions regularly and build lifelong museum and library habits. Individuals with a valid SNAP / EBT card have free admission for up to four people.
Supplies necessary for the safety of visitors and staff during our phased reopening have been funded by Virginia Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act

Directions
From Washington D.C.
- Take Route 66 west into Virginia.
- Take exit 57B Route 50 west/Fair Oaks/Winchester.
- Continue approximately 20 miles until you reach Middleburg.
- Just past the Southern States, turn left onto The Plains Road.
- Continue about 50 yards and turn right into the NSLM driveway.
From Washington Dulles Airport (IAD)
- At airport exit, follow signs for Rt. 28 south towards Centerville.
- Exit onto Rt. 50 west towards Winchester.
- Continue approximately 15 miles until you reach Middleburg.
- Just past the Southern States, turn left onto The Plains Road.
- Continue about 50 yards and turn right into the NSLM driveway.
From the North or South via Route 15
- Take Route 15 to Route 50 west.
- Continue on 50 west approximately 10 miles until you reach Middleburg.
- Just past the Southern States, turn left onto The Plains Road.
- Continue about 50 yards and turn right into the NSLM driveway.
From the West via I-81 and Route 50
- Take Route 50 east.
- Continue on 50 east approximately 29 miles until you reach Middleburg.
