Maurice Ormerod is 29 years old with a handicap of 2 goals outdoors and 5 goals in the arena. His polo career began in the British pony club from 12 years old when he was taught to play by his father, Giles Ormerod. At U16 Maurice won the Pony Club Championship alongside his brother Eden and represented England at schools level. Maurice has played to a high level internationally including for England against the USA in the Townshend Cup, West Virginia 2008 and in the Commonwealth Cadillac Cup in Charlottesville in 2013. Local achievements include playing for Emerging Polo Team in British Open aged 17 and being named MVP in Arena Nationals 2007 & Arena Silver Cup 2008. Maurice represented the British Isles at the 2013 International Arena Test Match at Hickstead and in the Gaucho International Polo at the O2 Arena. Maurice works in property development based in West Sussex, UK where he also lives with his wife Laura (nee. McCarthy) and their 4 children Hugo, Molly, Rosie & Annie.
