OSCAR CHURTON

Oscar started playing polo at the age of 14 whilst at Shrewsbury School.   After school he took a five-year sabbatical and instead rode successfully as an amateur jump jockey.  The highlight of this period was riding back into the winner’s enclosure after the Champion Hunter Chase at Cheltenham Racecourse. On completion of university and a prolonged battle with the scales Oscar attended The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, commissioning into The King’s Royal Hussars; one of Britain’s premier cavalry regiments.  As both a tank troop leader and more recently as a squadron second in command, Oscar has deployed on numerous overseas exercises including in Canada, Poland, Norway, France and Austria. Whilst in the Army Oscar has played regularly at Tidworth Combined Services Polo Club for both his regiment, the cavalry and the army.  His interests include skiing, sailing, hunting, surfing and riding.
