School & Youth Group Programs

School and Youth Group tours are customizable to your needs and support learning through interactive and hands-on tour options.

Tours are customizable and available for groups of all ages and abilities.

Group tours, guided or self-guided, are available for groups of 10-30 people and must be scheduled at least one week in advance. To qualify for the discounted tour rate, the group must contain at least 10 individuals, regular admission rates apply for smaller groups. 

Tours are conducted Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 4:30pm. If you require an earlier tour time for your classroom, contact the Clarice & Robert H. Smith Educator to schedule an earlier time. 


Tour Group: 10-30 individuals

Tour Length: 45 minutes - 1 hour 

Museum Tour Admission: $3.00 per student, free for Title I Schools and Public Loudoun County Schools. One adult chaperone is free and required for every 10 students, additional adults are $5.00. 

Library Tour Admission: Free*

STEAM Tours ׀ K-5

Discover STEAM at NSLM through identification of  geography, plants, animals, food webs, and weather patterns inside artwork. Or, learn the biomechanics of a horse in motion through the construction of a moveable equine model and steeplechase obstacle. The possibilites are endless!

Fine Art and Rare Books ׀ All ages

Have you ever wondered how we care for rare books in the collection or what a fore-edged book is? Find out those answers and many more as we take you underground to the F. Ambrose Clark Rare Book Room. Our oldest book was published in 1523, will you be able to spot it?
