Meet the Staff
Sr. Collections Manager and Registrar
Lauren Kraut started as Collections Manager in August 2018 in time to assist with installation for the Sidesaddle,1630-1935 exhibition. In her position, she oversees the maintenance and preservation of the permanent, study, and loan collections, as well as handles donation and promised gift offers to the museum.
She has her BA in History from Roanoke College, BA in Art History from George Mason University, and an MSc in the History of Art, Theory, and Display from the University of Edinburgh. Previous institutions include James Madison’s Montpelier, Smithsonian National Museum of American History, and the National Library of Scotland, as well as an internship at the National Sporting Library & Museum from 2012-2013. She also teaches art history at Northern Virginia Community College.
