Join acclaimed local artist Gail Guirreri Maslyk for an inspiring, hands-on oil painting workshop that celebrates process over perfection. In this immersive two-day experience, Gail will guide participants through the expressive journey of painting horses—encouraging spontaneity, exploration, and a deeper connection to your creative voice.
As Gail puts it: “Like a vacation, painting is about the journey, not the destination. The twists and turns are where your unique voice emerges.”
This workshop emphasizes painting with energy and intention. You’ll explore fast, intuitive techniques that help you stay loose and responsive—learning to recognize when a piece is finished, when to push further, or when to start fresh. Working with a limited palette, you’ll uncover surprising color harmonies and new ways to capture form and movement.
Workshop Schedule:
Wednesday, June 11
- Morning: Horse Eye Study on an 11x14 panel
- Afternoon: Horse Portrait on a 16x20 panel
Thursday, June 12
- Full day: Horse Figure on an 18x24 panel
Throughout the workshop, Gail will share demonstrations, individual guidance, and group feedback—all in a supportive, focused environment.
Workshop size is limited to 15 students to ensure personalized attention.
Whether you’re a seasoned painter or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop offers a fresh and dynamic approach to oil painting.
