Unleash your inner artist in this four-week winter workshop led by artist Megan Lark Caldwell. Whether you’re completely new to oil painting or just looking to refresh your basic skills, this workshop will guide you through every step of creating your own masterpiece. Students are encouraged to bring a landscape photo that inspires them.

This class is open to all skill levels but basic painting skills are helpful. You’ll learn how to prepare a canvas, explore foundational oil painting techniques, and play with expressive color combinations. By the end of the four sessions, you’ll not only walk away with a finished painting, but also the skills and confidence to keep creating on your own.

All materials are provided but you’re welcome to bring your own supplies if you prefer. To ensure personalized guidance and a relaxed, supportive atmosphere, class size is limited. Reserve your spot early because these classes will sell out quickly!

Megan Lark Caldwell of Sweetrock Studios (Bluemont, Virginia) has been teaching oil painting for more than 20 years. Inspired by her surroundings, she paints landscapes, as well as portraits of humans and animals.
