August Sunday Sketch with Patty Craighill

Join us in the Museum on Sunday, August 30, at 2 pm for Sunday Sketch, the NSLM's free art workshop that occurs every last Sunday of the month. We provide all the materials—you just bring your curiosity and creativity.

Come learn from local artist Patty Craighill as she explores the expressive possibilities of charcoal drawing, inspired by our current exhibitions. All ages and abilities are welcome!

About your Instructor

Patricia “Patty” Craighill has been drawing and painting since childhood and has spent decades developing her practice across charcoal, watercolor, and oil. Now based in Virginia’s Piedmont, Patty draws inspiration from the landscapes, gardens, and horse farms surrounding her home, with a particular passion for equestrian subjects. Her work has been exhibited throughout the region and in New York City at venues including the Byrne Gallery, Art League of Alexandria, Art at the Mill, and the Salmagundi Club. Through her art, Patty seeks to capture moments of beauty and wonder and invite viewers to see the world around them with fresh curiosity.
