About Our Speakers

Bill Cronon, an American environmental historian who served as the Frederick Jackson Turner and Vilas Research Professor of History, Geography, and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. Cronon is a renowned scholar of the American West and environmental history and is now a professor emeritus.  He serves on the Governing Council of The Wilderness Society.
