An Evening with Olympic Eventer Will Coleman

An Evening with Olympic Eventer Will Coleman

Join us for a cocktail reception and conversation with one of America's finest event riders, made possible by the generous support of Jim Newman.

Will Coleman's story begins right here in the Virginia Piedmont. He learned to ride in the hunt field and show jumping ring under the watchful eye of his father, a devoted fox hunter and horseman. That broad education in horses carried him from the hunt country of his youth to the world's biggest stages, including the London Olympics in 2012, the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018, and a historic 2021 victory at Aachen aboard his beloved Off The Record, "Timmy." He then helped the U.S. win team silver at the 2022 World Championships in Pratoni, Italy.

This year has been the best of his career. In April, Will and his rising star Diabolo, "Dabs," won the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event in their first five-star together. They are the first pair ever to win both of Kentucky's top competitions. In August, they returned to Aachen and finished fourth in the world, anchoring the U.S. team to bronze at the FEI Eventing World Championships.

Just weeks after that medal-winning performance, Will comes home to Middleburg. He'll share the story behind his remarkable season, what it takes to produce a championship horse, and his road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. It's an evening for anyone who loves horses, the hunt country, and the thrill of eventing at its highest level.
