Sunday Sketch - May 29

Join us for Sunday Sketch in May with artist Mary Jennings!

There will be a 15-minute skill session from 2pm - 2:15pm that will be streamed on Facebook Live, and the in-person guided activity will start at 2:30.

Documenting observations about our surroundings is a key skill for a naturalist and artist of any kind. Field notes are designed to be accessible destinations for our observations, notes, and questions while in the field. Field notes are playgrounds for the curious. They collect expressions of wonder. A more careful and distilled form of the field notes can be created in a more detailed field journal. This process is similar to the process an artist experiences when collecting sketches, note and color studies required for making a finished work of art.

“I trained to be a Master Gardener and Master Naturalist in order to be able to translate the natural images in my art more accurately. I enjoy being more informed about my subject and its surroundings. The results are more relatable.”  - Mary Jennings

Participation is free and all materials will be provided. To RSVP email EReeb@NationalSporting.org
