Sunday Sketch - June 26

Join us for this month's Sunday Sketch with Alice Porter!

What’s the best way to organize a subject within a drawing or painting? What things do you need to consider to construct a strong composition?

Students will draw a vignette then make a decision to build a composition to best support the drawing.

During a study of two- and three-dimensional works, students will acquire knowledge and skills in gesture drawing and preserving the integrity of a drawing through the use of ratios and shapes in negative space in a composition. Students may also have an opportunity to explore methods in multi-figure composition.

Bring your sketchbooks to draw and take notes, or use ours.

Artist Alice Porter is a graduate of the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts and The Rhode Island School of Design.

Professional development points available for licensed teachers.

There will be a 15-minute skill session from 2pm-2:15pm that will be streamed on Facebook Live, and the in-person guided activity will start at 2:30

Participation is free and all materials will be provided. To RSVP email
